Holly Hunter, an American actress and film producer is recognized for her outstanding performances in films like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. The movie Piano won her several awards and an Oscar. The well-known actress began her acting career on the stage, performing in a variety of Broadway and Off-Broadway projects. From the time she was a child she's always been very passionate in the field of acting. The role she played was Helen Keller as a fifth-grade student in the school's play. Mumps caused her to be deaf and blind in one ear, but she did not allow this to stop her from becoming an actor. The college she attended was drama before moving away from Pittsburgh into New York City to follow her dream. Hunter made her Broadway debut through a chance encounter in the company of Beth Henley, a playwright. Together, they wrote on Broadway Crimes of the Heart. After that, she made the move in Los Angeles and tried to land films roles. The film, Swing Shift, she landed an appearance as a supporting character. In the three decades since then she's appeared in numerous TV shows and films. Holly Hunter has a Hollywood Walk of Fame actress and won Women in Film Lucy Award.
